Signori ecco l’ultimo aggiornamento sul caso LiveLeak vs Google. Come vi avevo preannunciato ho scritto a LiveLeak che mi ha gentilmente risposto dandomi delle informazioni interessanti. Vi lascio le risposte in inglese così da non alterare in alcun modo il senso di quello che mi hanno riferito.
Okay, here is what I can tell you about the situation with Google. Our robot.txt file has not changed since last October and Google managed to index liveleak.org without any problems at all. If our robots.txt had been bad then that wouldn’t have happened. Everything met with Google’s criteria to be indexed. Now, following the video and a lot of interest, we are finally indexed. I can assure you again we changed nothing at our end to make this happen. I am not claiming we were censored at all, this was the question put to me which I answered with my video. We may never know what happened but all that really matters is that it is sorted out now.”
Alla richiesta: avete qualche prova (cache, back-up, etc.) che possa testimoniare in maniera inequivocabile che il vostro file robots.txt sia integro da mesi, questa è stata la risposta.
“That robots.txt is from Sedo. Also we only went live Oct31st 2006. Thing is, how could Lifeleak.com and liveleak.org have been indexed if our .txt file was wrong? There is no other evidence we can offer, we never thought we would need to. Everything had been checked several times (Even the guys at Googleblogspot checked it out apparently). we’d be pretty dumb to complain and not actually know how to set up a robot.txt I think.”
Insomma LiveLeak continua a sostenere che il loro file robots.txt non ha praticamente mai avuto problemi. Il file è gestito da un provider esterno (Sedo), tutti gli altri motori di ricerca hanno indicizzato i contenuti del sito. Tutti tranne Google. Anzi no, dopo essere esplosa la polemica ora anche Google si è improvvisamente svegliata. Se riprovate oggi a chiedere i contenuti di LiveLeak da Google vedrete che tutto è magicamente comparso. Io mi fermo qui, non vi annoierò oltre con questa vicenda.
