Promoting a website in Italy

Hey guys,
sorry for writing in English, but I don't speak Italian.

I'm am from Slovenia, my name is Miha, am 21 years old and am about to launch a website in Italian language for all of you from Italy.

Now, the problem is that I have no idea where to publish it and how to promote it for free over the internet. I know how to do it for sites in English language (writing articles, youtube, and so on...).

All I want to know is, how you do it for websites for Italian visitors (your country)? Can you please please give me some tips.

And I would also like to know, what websites are the most popular in Italy right now. What search engines, news websites, auction sites, community websites... especially those made by companies established in your countries.

Please guys, help me out. I would really appreciate your help!

ok, ho parlato con miha, in pratica sta progettando, insieme a un socio, un network di siti in 7 lingue per 10 paesi (italia, francia, spagna ecc).

io non conosco su due piedi le risposte a tutte le richieste, quindi, dopo aver risposto a quelle che conoscevo ho tradotto la sua richiesta e postata qui.

P.S. sebbene abbia fatto notare che in determinati casi le realtà italiane sono molto underrated rispetto a quelle mondiali (es: youtube, google), vuole conoscere proprio quelle italiane. non ho idea di che tipo di servizio voglia offrire, poichè mi ha detto di non potermelo dire. però si sente fiduciosa del fatto che questo progetto le porti diversi backlinks da realtà importanti.
