sicuramente è l'.htaccess mal compilato.
stampa qui il codice del file che lo controlliamo.
e indica se il sito è nella root o sotto una directory.

Scusami, ho notato che il file .htaccess, una volta caricato in remoto, sparisce.

Carico il file, chiudo filezilla, riapro filezilla e il file non ce piu! Infatti se ricarico il file in remoto la scritta "devo sovrascrivere il file perchè già esistente" non appare. :bho:

A memoria non ricordo, ma nelle impostazioni dle tuo client ftp ci dovrebbe essere una voce per non far nascondere i file che iniziano con un punto.

Le URL le cambia ma dà questo errore:

su firefox:
strumenti > elimina i dati personali...
si aprirà una piccola finestra dove devi decidere cosa pulire.

su explorer:
strumenti > opzioni internet...
si aprirà una piccola finestra e al tab "Generale" troverai una scritta "File temporanei internet".

Ah, credevo in Joomla, ho fatto tutto ma quell'errore rimane.
