.htaccess redirect 301 e joomla

Ho un problemuccio, devo fare un redirect 301 per determinate pagine del sito adesso aggiornate a nuova url:

index.php?option=com_contact&Itemid=20
redirect to contatti.html

index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=8
redirect to manutenzione.html

Etc

ho provato la classica stringa:

Redirect 301 /old.php /new.php

ma non fungica.

Ok ci sono riuscito, sbagliavo mettendo i redirect a fine pagina, mettendoli appena dopo la stringa commentata # RewriteBase / tutto funziona.
