sono entrato come root per installare virtualbox questo è quanto ottenuto:

usermod: gruppo «vboxusers» sconosciuto
l'user mod è il nome con il quale mi sono registrato e entro come root o è un'altra cosa? se per caso scarico un pacchetto e mi si blocca lo scaricamento esiste un metodo che mi permette di ripartire da dove mi ero fermato o mi devo rassegnare ad iniziare da capo ogni volta che mi si blocca la connessione? un'altra cosa guarda qui il risultato non cambia

allora la prima riga è corretta solo che non esiste il gruppo vboxusers il che vuol dire che VirtualBox non è stato installato o almeno non è installato correttamente

se gli dai

chmod 777 VirtualBox-1.3.8_mdv2007.1-1.i586.rpm.run

e poi

./VirtualBox-1.3.8_mdv2007.1-1.i586.rpm.run install /opt/innotek/VirtualBox

che succede?

riguarda il file Xorg.0.log se tu scrivi /var/log/Xorg.0.log gli stai dicendo che lo vuoi eseguire, invece tu lo devi visualizzare in un editor

quindi devi fare kate /var/log/Xorg.0.log

se hai installati i repository Contrib allora le scarica automaticamente, altrimenti devi farlo tu a mano

questo è un problema che ho avuto durante il download dei codecs win 32 dal centro di controllo mandriva e ho avuto una scritta simile anche durante l'installazione dei driver ati: si è verificato un errore durante l'installazione. curl failde: exited with 56 or signal 0 questo errore è riferito ai codec win 32. tu mi dici che avendo i depositi installati mandriva se li dovrebbe installare automaticamente i depositi ce li ho tutti ma con il comando

il numero di frame per secondo è molto elevato segno che l'accelerazione 3D è implementata e sta funzionando

ho provato a dare il comando urpmi e
urpmi libxalan-c.so.110
Alcuni dei pacchetti richiesti non possono essere installati:
libxalan-c0-1.10-0.1_10_0.2mdv2007.0.i586 (perché non è soddisfatto libxerces-c.so.27)
allora ho provato a mettere urpmi piu' il nome degli altri due pacchetti ottenendo errore o database non trovato. come devo procedere per l'installazione manuale?

ho dato "urpmi win32-codecs" è normale ottenere questa stringa o c'è qualcosa che non va e se si come posso rimediare?

quindi mi vorresti dire che anche se mi dice recupero fallito, l'installazione sarebbe andata a buon fine? allora questi cosa sarebbero degli errori di traduzione in italiano di mandriva? per farti un esempio ho scaricato tutto quello che serve per wine ma non lo trovo da nessuna parte! per cortesia se con i depositi non ho lo scaricamento automatico delle dipendenze e devo procedere a mano come devo fare?

prova a scrivere da terminale wine e vedi se parte....se va è installato altrrimenti bisogna ricominciare daccapo

comunque ripeto per quanto riguarda Wine stranamente nel menù di Mandriva non compare, prova da terminale così almeno sei sicuro se è installato o meno

scrivendo wine PROGRAM gli stai dicendo di eseguire il file PROGRAM.exe e non credo esista un file con quel nome

la sintassi corretta è wine nome-del-programma-da-eseguire

Wine è un emulatore Win32, il che vuol dire che è in grado di far girare i programmi per Windows, anche se alcuni pezzi grossi tipo Photoshop non funzionano proprio benissimo.....

per installare Windows in una macchina virtuale ti serve un virtualizzatore tipo VirtualBox, Xen, Vmware o Parallels....tra i 4 che ho citato, Xen ha le migliori performance, ma visto che non è pensato per i Desktop ma per i Server non offre un supporto adeguato alla grafica, quindi Windows funzionerà a non più di 800x600 pixel.....

Parallels ha buonissime prestazioni e ottimo supporto grafico ma è a pagamento

VirtualBox è quello meno performante ma ha driver grafici, quindi Windows potrà sfruttare la scheda grafica, ovviamente in tutti e 4 i casi l'accelerazione 3D non è contemplata, quindi non puoi far girare videogiochi sotto Windows virtualizzato

l'ultimo, Vmware ha prestazioni simili a Parallels e c'è una versione free che è Vmware Player....quest'ultimo non ha il driver per la scheda grafica, però comunque Windows puoi funzionare ad alte risoluzioni....se non usi programmi che fanno molto uso di grafica puoi usare Vmware....poi c'è la versione completa che è la Workstation ma è a pagamento....inoltre per installare Windows sotto Vmware Player devi creare il file .vmx manualmente e creare l'immagine vmdk con QEmu....

inoltre se vuoi ottime prestazioni devi utilizzare un processore che supporta il VT-x di Intel

ah un'altra cosa....

ho trovato un server dal quale è ancora possibile scaricare la versione PLF di Mandriva 2007...si tratta della versione con tutti i driver, i codec, ecc.... già presenti sul DVD

per i giochi solo Cedega può aiutarti

non esattamente, i programmi vanno prima installati come succede per windows, poi li puoi usare.....

immagina di voler installare Office....inserisci il CD e scrivi wine /mnt/cdrom/setup.exe e parte l'installazione....poi le esegui con wine c:\program files\office\office.exe

per semplificare l'installazione di alcuni software c'è Wine Tools http://www.von-thadden.de/Joachim/WineTools/ ....in pratica è un'interfaccia grafica che aiuta nell'installazione
