AP Wireless

vorrei configurare un AP wireless,
la situazione è questa, ho il router del provider che funziona perfettamente, poi ho un vecchio netgear DG834G che vorrei usare come AP, ho trovato numerose guide sia sul forum e su internet e quello che ho fatto è:

1. Change the router's IP address in "LAN IP Setup" to 192.168.1.4 (Make sure this is outside of your other router's DHCP range), and uncheck "Use Router as DHCP server".
2. Change the SSID and security as needed on the DG834G in "Wireless Settings" under "Setup".
3. Connect one of the LAN ports of the DG834G to one of the LAN ports of your other router.
4. See if you are able to ping the DG834G while connected with a wire to the other router.
5. Connect to the wireless network and see if you are able to go online.

Pero' non funziona, ho qualche dubbio:

1. devo disattivare in NAT sull'AP oltre che il DHCP?

l'indirizzo del router principale sembra essere 84.72.200.1, subnet 255.255.252.0 e gli indirizzi che il router assegnerebbe ai PC sono del tipo 84.72.201.232.
che indirizzo posso assegnare all'AP? quello del router mi sembra un IP pubblico?
